Release and Waiver Requirement
Each Policyholder must keep on file a current completed and signed Release and Waiver of Liability/Informed Consent for each athletic participant prior to the participation in any Policyholder activity. Policyholders are responsible for distributing forms to their athletic participants and maintaining completed forms for simultaneous delivery at the time of notice of an athletic participant's injury claim. Provided you have implemented such procedures and you are unable to secure and provide such "release" despite your best efforts, you must assume and pay the first $2,500 of each occurrence (including supplemental payments) resulting in an "athletic participant" legal liability claims. "Athletic participant" means players, coaches, managers, staff members, team workers, volunteers, game officials and cheerleaders who have been granted proper authorization to enter any "sponsored events."

The Mandatory Accident Medical Plan

Pays the medical bills of an injured participant or staff member.
Who is covered?
All participants of the Policyholder specified in the application are covered while participating in sponsored and supervised activities. A member is also covered while traveling, directly and without interruption, to and from any Policyholder sponsored activity and his or her home or place of residence.
Participant Medical Expense Benefit- $25,000 Limit
Spectator Medical Expense Benefit - $5,000 Limit
If the Insured Person incurs eligible expenses as the result of a covered injury, the Company will pay the charges incurred for such expense within 52 weeks, beginning on the date of the accident. Payment will be made for eligible expenses not to exceed the Maximum Medical Expense Benefit, subject to the applicable deductible amount (if any). The first such expense must be incurred within 60 days after the date of the accident. "Eligible expense" means charges for medically necessary treatment and service, not to exceed the usual and customary charges in the area where provided.
  • Medical and surgical care by a physician.
  • Radiology (X-rays).
  • Prescription drugs and medicines.
  • Dental treatment of sound natural teeth.
  • Hospital care and service in semi-private accommodations, or as an outpatient.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit - $10,000
If a covered injury results in any of the losses specified below within 1 year (not applicable in Pennsylvania) after the date of the accident, the Company will pay the applicable amount:
  • Full Principal Sum for the loss of life.
  • Full Principal Sum for double dismemberment.
  • Full Principal Sum loss of sight or both eyes.
  • 50% of the Principal Sum for loss of one hand, one foot or sight of one eye.

"Member" means hand, foot, or eye. Loss of hand or foot means complete severance above the wrist or ankle joint. Loss of eye means the total, permanent loss of sight. In any event, the double dismemberment indemnity is the maximum amount payable under this Benefit for all losses resulting from one accident.
Minimum Premium- $150.00 for seven (7) month policy term. Premium is fully earned upon Policy Inception. Any cancellations must be requested in writing prior to the effective date of coverage.
Exclusions and Limitations
This plan does not cover any loss to or resulting from: Sickness or disease in any form, except pyogenic infections due to an accidental cut or wound. The use of drugs or narcotics, unless administered under the advice of a physician. War or any act of war, whether or not declared. Participation in any riot or civil commotion. Air travel or the use of any device or equipment for aerial navigation, except as a fare-paying passenger on a regularly scheduled commercial airline. Suicide or any attempt threat or any self-inflicted injury (in Missouri this applies only while sane).
Nor does the Plan cover: Service provided by any person or facility employed or retained by the Policyholder or member organization. Service provided by any member of the Insured Person's family or household. Dental treatment, except as the result of a covered injury. The repair or replacement of any artificial dental restoration. Exam for, prescription for, or thepurchase of eyeglasses or contact lenses or hearing aids. Expenses payable under any Workers Compensation Law or similar legislation. What is Powerbreathe?

What is Rock Climbing Training?
Rock climbing is a very physical and mental sport. At times it tests the person mind, strength and endurance, whilst making sure you are save with every manoeuvre you do. There are different types of climbing, which are: lead climbing, secondary climbing, top roping or bouldering.
Lead Climbing: This is the person who will climb from the ground up with rope directly attached to their harness, which can be very dangerous sometimes.
Secondary Climbing: The second person is the one which follows the lead climber. Being the second is generally less dangerous as you have a rope above you.
Top Roping: A fixed anchor point above the climb. Top-roping is brilliant for beginners to learn from.
Bouldering: This is an excellent way to improve climbing technique. Bouldering is a style of climbing that focuses on either a series of moves or a single move. You often traverse along the way.
History of Rock Climbing Training:
Rock Climbing started over 200 years ago when shepherds and miners climbed cliffs to find plants and minerals. Rock Climbing started out as an necessity and now it’s become a popular outdoor activity.
In 1858 Sir Leslie Stephen became the earliest recorded sea cliff climb, in Cornwall.
Where can I learn Rock Climbing Training?
Coasts: There are different types of cliff to climb from; granite, basalt, limestone, sandstone, slate and many more. You can access some climbing routes by walking to them but some you may have to abseil or sea-traverse to.
Mountains: There are a great number of climbs you can do in the mountains, many are located at the Lake District, Snowdonia, Ireland and Scotland. You never know if there is loose rock or the weather conditions which can appeal to some climbers.
Moorlands: You should check out the moorlands such as Dartmoor, as there are many different climbs you can do.
National Parks: There are many national parks in the United Kingdom and it is worth to check out which parks offer climbs for you.
Climbing Grades
Many countries have created their own grades of climbing so that people know how difficult the climb they are attempting to do.
Where can I climb?
You can go climbing anywhere, but to start of I would recommend a lesson in climbing so that you learn all the basics. There are many adventure centres that offer this, or you could find your local climbing centre to practice on a indoor wall.
Climbing is a brilliant sport if you want to physically and mentally push yourself to the limits.

Surfboards for Beginners

Surfing the waves has been a way of life for thousands of years. It was in the early 1900s that surfing became an accepted sport by the international sporting agencies. It wasn’t until the 1960’s that surfing started becoming very popular.
Surfing is now more popular then ever. Especially as many beaches are easy to get to. And more and more surfers are pushing the limits by surfing massive waves.
Surfboards for Beginners have become relative cheaper to buy. For the surfing beginner there are many different boards they can try, but many people starting out use a soft-board also known as ‘softies’. These types of boards are bigger then other surfboards they are extremely buoyant and are very stable in the water. This makes them easier to stand up on for the novice surfer.
There are other surfboards you can buy really depending on the skills you have as a surfer. There are mid-length boards, longboards and shortboards. Really good surfers tend to surf on smaller and lighter boards.
Why Surf?
People surf for different reasons. Many people surf because there is no other sport like it. For some people it’s a way of life and to others they enjoy surfing on holiday or the weekend. A big bonus with surfing is that there are no monthly or yearly membership fees to pay.
Start Surfing
One of the best ways to start surfing is to have a surf lesson when you are next at the beach. Rather then buying all the gear, the surf school will give you all the surf gear to get you into the water. The surf instructor will then take you into the water and teach you how to surf. More then likely you’ll be getting a few ‘wipe-outs’ before you catch the wave. This is a great way to get the surf bug – once hooked you’ll want to go in again and again.
Surfboards for Beginners
Shortboard is the first type of board it is also known as a Thruster. This board performs quick manoeuvres and is very popular. The size of the board is from 5’8” to 6’10”.
Longboard or Malibu are the next types of boards you can ride. The main difference in this type of board is that the nose is much more rounded then the shortboard. Shortboards tend to have three fins and longboards tend to have a single fin. Mini-mals’ sizes range from 7’2” to 9’0” and Malibus are 9’0” and more.
The fish board is very similar to a shortboard but is smaller. It has more width to the board then lengths making it more rounder. The size of the fish board is between 4’8” and 6’0”. The fish board is definitely not a good board for a beginner.
The gun is also a type of shortboard as well. The size of the gun board ranges from 7’2” in length to over 12′ to surf big waves.
So the best Surfboard for Beginner is the Malibu as it is bigger and thicker making it easier to catch waves.

Tandem Skydive

What is Skydiving?
Skydiving is when you put a parachute on and jump from an aeroplane or jump off a tall mountain or cliff edge. You free fall for a bit and then you open your parachute. A typical altitude jump could be around 13,000 feet (4,000 meters), which gives the jumper about 60 seconds of free fall. Sometimes you can go as high as 16,000 feet (4,900 meters) without needing to supplement oxygen levels.
Tandem Skydive:
If it is your first jump you should always do a tandem jump. You do this with a trained instructor this is known as ‘tandem skydive’. During the tandem skydive the instructor is responsible for the jump. And in the unlikely event of an emergency the instructor will know the exact emergency procedure. By starting first with a tandem skydive you get to concentrate on learning how to skydive without the worry of what you have to do.
Practicing Skydiving
You can master the art of skydiving without actually jumping. To practice for a free fall you can go to vertical wind tunnel. A vertical wind tunnel moves the air up in a vertical column; this allows people to practice skydiving without having to jump from a plane. The wind in the vertical tunnel can move up to 120mph. This is a great way to practice your skydiving before you go out for your first jump.

Types of Fruit

Here at Sport and Health we like our fruit, so we thought we would list the different types of fruit you can eat following the alphabet.
Apricots have lots of beta-carotene and also supplies iron.
Blackcurrants have lots of vitamin C and are a vital preservative from cancer and heart disease.
Cranberries are high in vitamin C, iron, potassium and vitamin A.
Dates give lots of energy and are very nourishing, they also help with constipation.
Elderberries help lower cholesterol, improve vision, improve heart health and immue system.
Figs are very nourishing as well, they are rich in fibre, iron, potassium and calcium.
Grapefruits have also a high level of vitamin C and lots of potassium. It also helps if you have circulatory or digestive problems.
Honeydew Melon is stimulating for the kidneys and is also a  mild laxative.
Jujube can help with stress and can act as an anti-inflammatory and also it can help heal wounds.
Kiwi contains lots of vitamin C and vitamin E, it also has lots of potassium.
Lychee is a nice tropical fruit. It also helps naturally increase the energy of the body.
Mango has high iron, so it is the perfect fruit for pregnant women who may suffer from anaemia.
Nectarines are high in vitamin C, vitamin A and Potassium.
Oranges are very high in vitamin C but can also help prevent cancer, constipation, high blood pressure and make your skin look beautiful.
Pineapples help with you have digestive problems. It is also high in anti-oxidants meaning again it is another fruit with lots of vitamin C.
Quince is a great fruit if you want to lose weight and have a healthy body.
Raspberries have lots of calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium and vitamin C. It also helps if you suffer from heart problems, fatigue and depression.
Strawberries can help if you suffer from high blood pressure, and they can also help if you have kidney stones. They are also rich in iron helping with anaemia and fatigue.
Tangerine has lots of vitamin C and has plenty of beta-carotene. It also helps Obesity, Pneumonia, Arthritis and Asthma.
The Ugli helps fight cardio vascular disease and promotes healthy gums. It also has lots of vitamin B and vitamin C.
Watermelon helps reduce dehydration. Also it is packed with lots of antioxidants and has vitamin C and A.
Yellow Lemons are known as the healing fruit. They can help with a variety of things like arthritis, colds, sore throats, rheumatism, urinary tract infections and many more.

Types of Vegetables

Here at Sport and Health we like our vegetables, so we thought we would list the different types of vegetables you can eat following the alphabet.
Avocado is potassium rich so it can help depression, fatigue and poor digestion. It also has vitamin A, B, C and E.
Beetroot has lots of minerals and vitamins. It has lots of iron so it helps with blood pressure.
By eating one Carrot a day it will supply all your Vitamin A you need in one day. And it also gives you more energy.
Dandelion Leaf helps if you have liver, circulatory, digestive problems. It also contains vitamin A, C, beta-carotene and chlorophyll.
Endive is a great veg if you want to lose weight as it stimulates the appetite. It also is a light laxative.
Fennel can help anaemia, menstrual problems, constipation, indigestion and respiratory disorders.
Garlic is the best healing herb. It helps with cancer, heart problems, infectious diseases and joints. It also is a great antibacterial and can heal wounds.
Horse Radish is great for bronchitis, rheumatism, anemia, flu and other breathing disorders.
Jerusal em Artichoke helps digestive problems, can lower blood pressure, prevent heart disease and also help protect liver from damage.
Kale can l ower cholesterol and can even lower the risk of cancer. It also is a great vegetable for your bodies’ detoxification system.
Leeks are rich in potassium; they also help if you have respiratory problems and are a great cleanser for your body.
Mushroom s can lower cholesterol levels, help prevent breast cancer, prostrate cancer, and diabetes. But they also help weight loss and boost the immune system.
New Potatoes have lots of vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, copper, manganese, and have plenty of fibre. Also they help lower blood pressure.
Onions are great if you suffer from anaemia, asthma, bronchitis and ageing. Also they can help prevent cancer and lower blood cholesterol.
Peppers very versatile, they have lots of vitamin C, A, K, iron, potassium and beta-carotene. They help decrease blood cholesterol and boost immunity system.
Radishes are very good for the liver and stomach. They also help with cancer, weight loss and skin disorders.
Spinach helps improve eye sight, reduce blood pressure, strengths muscles, has anti-cancerous properties and is protein rich.
Turnips have lots of potassium, magnesium and are a good source of vitamin B6. They can help prevent from asthma, cancer and skin problems.
Watercress help protect the eyes, it evens cholesterol and blood pressure, it also helps improve memory. It also has lots of vitamins.
Zucchini has lots of vitamin C, can cure asthma, and has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

Zumba

Zumba classes are a dance fitness programme which is similar to Bunga bunga. Zumba combines dance with Latin and international music to make exercise fun. It also used hypnotic musical rhythms so it creates a lively workout. There are many DVD’s available so you can learn at home or you can find a fitness centre which offer Zumba lessons.
History
Zumba classes first started in the 1990s by a man called Beto who is an instructor and a choreographer who created routines for Shakira. Then in 1999 he started specifically doing a class for women. The class became more and more popular so Beto created a company called Zumba Fitness, he was joined by Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion.
The music plays the most important part in the workout as it creates beats and tempo changes, so it is key that the transition from one workout to another is smooth. Zumba works on every muscle group in the body which creates a whole body workout. Zumba also uses different dance styles sych as:
  • Cha-cha-cha
  • Belly dancing
  • Samba
  • Salsa
  • Hip-hop
  • Tango
Classes
  • Zumba – This class includes basic rhythms set to high energy music while having heaps of fun.
  • Zumba Gold – This class is for older adults.
  • Zumba Toning – This class uses many different toning exercises and incoperates the Zumba Toning Sticks.
  • Aqua Zumba – This is known as the Qua Pool Party. It’s a great fun session, which includes strengthening, splashing and just have heaps of fun whilst doing exercise.
  • Zumbatomic – This class is designed for girls and boys aged 4–12. It uses different urban dance styles like hip hop and reggaeton. It is a great fun session for children to do.

Sphereing

Sphereing which is also known as Zorbing is, being placed inside a big plastic ball that rolls down a hill. You can be harnessed in a zorb or non-harnessed.
History
The first site which was available for Sphereing was in Rotorua, New Zealand. Sphereing started around the 1980s and since has been slowly becoming a very popular extreme activity to do.
The zorb which is the name of the ball used, is double skinned which means one ball is inside the other and air is between the layer. This acts as a shock absorber for the person while inside the ball.
Types of Sphereing
The two most popular types of Sphereing are:
Harnessed Sphereing
In this one you can get up to speeds of 30mph, it gives you a great thrill if with you like doing extreme activities. You are strapped in, on your shoulders, hips and feet and just roll down on a hill, this may give you a stomach-churning thrill. The experience can last up to 15 seconds though it depends on the course type and how long the hill is.
Aqua Sphereing
With this type of Sphereing there are no straps required, so you just move freely along in the zorb. In this zorb there can be upto 30 litres of water so you will be nice and wet. (Tip make sure you bring spare clothes!!) In the zorb itself you will be sliding about in the zorb so it can make you feel like a washing machine. Aqua Sphereing sounds more extreme but actually it is less intense than the Harnessed Sphereing.

Power Boating

Power boating is an activity that is performed in a motorized boat. A power boat generally has high power and the weight of the boat is light. This allows the boat to plane easily.

The lightness of the power boat improves the handling of the boat. It also allows it to go at a very fast speed.
Also the shape of the power boat is streamlined – this minimizes air resistance and drag.
Power boats tend to be used for waterskiing as well as wakeboarding. A power boat is also used for recreational use.
To learn the skills to drive a power boat you need to take relevant exams that teach you how to handling the boat and teach you seamanship. This will allow you to become the master of your own power boat.

Icebreakers/Team Bonding Activities

To start with we are going to talk about the simple easy Team Bonding Activities which can really help create an excellent team feeling mood. The first one is:
Break In/Break Out
With this Team Bonding Activities, you have to form a tight circle so you are standing shoulder to shoulder. Then you pick someone out of the group who will stand on the outside of the group and has to try and Break In the group below the legs. Break Out is the other way, so the person is standing in the middle of the circle and has to get out of the circle. These are excellent Team Bonding Activities which really starts to encourage team bonding.
Human Knot
Get the group to form a circle again and make sure they are shoulder to shoulder. Then instruct the group to grab someone’s hands on the opposite side of the group. Just ensure that the group aren’t holding onto someone next to them. The group then have to try and figure how to untangle the knot. This is a great Team Bonding Activity as it really starts getting people to start talking to each other.
2 Truths, 1 Lie
Get everyone in the group to think of 2 truths and one lie. Then make everyone take it in turns to say theirs whilst the rest have to try and guess which one is the lie.
Blindfold Feel
This Icebreaker is great if the group know each other, the group take it in turns to being blindfolded and try to guess someone by touching the persons’ face.
Head or Catch
Form a circle, someone in the middle throws the ball. Then explain that if you say catch you actually mean head and if you say head you mean catch. Head or Catch and Blindfold Feel are two great Team Bonding Activities to really start getting the group working together.

First we decided to learn about water and the function of it in our human body, the benefits were that it transports nutrients and oxygen into cells, helping the body metabolism, protecting vital organs, moister the air in lungs, regulating body temperature and detoxifying the body.
Also we learnt that muscles consist of 75% water, brain has 90% of water, bone consists of 22% and blood has 83%. We felt these were already great benefits for our body.
But we still wanted to know what the benefits of drinking water were for our health.
Here’s what we found – top 10 benefits of drinking water.
1. Skin looks healthier and younger
By being hydrated your skin looks automatically younger and also by drinking water it replenishes skin tissues, it moisturizes skin and also increases skin elasticity.

By drinking water it flushes down the by-products of fat breakdown. So this reduces hunger, which means you’ll eat less.
3. Can help relieve headaches
Because if you’re not use to drinking water you may suffer from dehydration so by drinking water this can help.
